Pendant les finales au Pavillon Baltard, la rédaction est allée interroger Kazunoko, champion de la saison 1.

Former winner of the Capcom Cup 2015 and DBFZ World Tour season 1, Kazunoko took some time to talk with us.

Hello Kazunoko. How would you describe yourself as a player?
I'm an offensive player, the exact opposite of Go1 who is a defensive player.

Why did you lose your domination in 2019?
It took me a long time to understand how strong GT Goku was. I wanted to win with my own team, but I failed. I started playing him, then my results became better.

What are your thoughts on the game balance?
According to me, GT Goku is too strong, mostly because of his assist which is a diagonal beam, which totally break the footsies. SSJ Goku assist can be countered, but there is no real way to counter GT Goku's one. I wouldn't say that he broke meta, he is the meta. In season 2, if you want to be strong, you have to be on point on GT Goku. I've got a lot of respect for people like ChrisG and Wawa who were able to win tournaments without playing him.

What do you expect for season 3?
I would like to see GT Goku's damages lowered a bit. If he deals less damages, people would play him less often. I would also love to see Kulillin get a better assist. I have faith in the game's developers, they know how to make a great game.

Would you like to see a particular character, or some specifics mecanics in the game?
In my opinion, I think that the combos mecanics are quite the same for every character, and I would like to see a character with different mecanics. It is fairly easy to switch characters, so having a character with different combos could be a great add to the game. I would also like to see more OAV characters.

Which advice would you give to someone who wants to play Yamcha?
Yamcha is not really strong at the moment, because he doesn't have the tools to shine in the meta. His 2M (low medium) and 8H (jump heavy) aren't strong enough. If you want to play him, you have to think a lot and not rush.

What do you think of this event, compared to other World Tour tournaments, like Red Bull Saga Spain and Japan?
The staff is awesome, if we need something, they'll do anything to get it. We can freeplay, and the crowd is amazing. It is a great event to end this season.

Any last word?
I'm really happy for the success of the game in Europe, and having the finals in Paris. I hope people enjoyed watching me play.
