We met Slashug a few days before the 2019 Six Invitational.

In less than two weeks, the Six Invitational will be shaking the Siege scene. In light of the Montreal Major, we interviewed Oliver "Slashug" Spencer, Rogue's captain to know more about the team's mindset going into the world championships.

team-aAa.com : Considered as the team number two behind Evil Geniuses looking at both of your placing, did the win at US Nationals have been kind of a consecration for you ?
Oliver "Slashug" Spencer : Beating EG at US Nationals was a great feeling, but by no means has it felt we have overcome them. They were playing with there coach and for us to feel like we have finally overcome them we would want to beat them with there full roster at a big LAN event

How did VertcL integrated himself to the team since his arrival ?
VerTcL has been amazing since joining the team. He listens and follows and calls made without hesitation. We have tried to make it easy for him by setting up ourselves around him and allowing him to play a role he comfortable with and used to.

It looks like you didn't take the best start in Pro League, actually standed 5th with only one win for one draw and three losses. Is this the result of special stuffs and strategies for the Invitational that you can't show at the moment, or difficulties to get back at your level after your win at US Nationals ?
We had very little practice with VertcL before US Nationals, so we played a very basic style and used very basic strats that proved to be effective. After the event, we tried to do more complex strategies but it didn't work for us as well as we had hoped. After our game vs Reciprocity, we decided to go back to a more basic style that allowed our players strength to shine.

You obviously want to reach new highs at this Invitational. You're aiming for a final, but are you coveting a world champion title this time ?
We are always shooting for 1st place and the Invitational is no exception. We believe we have the pieces to win the Invitational, we just need to put them together.

You felt in Group B alongside Immortals, Empire and Spacestation (facing them first). What do you think of it ?
While Spacestation is a team we have played a lot, the other two are relatively unknown for us. I think we have a strong chance at winning the group if we can handle the aggression from Immortals and Empire.

Being known as the 2018 Team USA is giving you a surplus of pressure for this Six ?
We dont feel any extra pressure from winning US nationals. If anything, it took pressure off because we know now that we are capable of closing out events.

Thank you for the time you accorded to the realisation of this interview, i let you the final word !
Thank you to all the fans that supported us during the rough start of the season, hopefully we can make it up at the Invitational. Thank you to Rogue for supporting us and allowing us to play full time. #GoRogue
